Regret Trap

Rather than attempting to go back and recreate past work, we’re better off moving forward to demonstrate dynamism and evolution; where we started, how we got to where we are, and where we want to go. A creatives’ narrative is an artists’ arc. Leave  past work unaffected but allow others to experience it within their own spatiotemporal pattern. Artist’s ‘teleporting’ back to validate past work, with or without external criticism, is a dangerous path.

Going in reverse will not take miles off the car. Instead, you’ll ultimately become trapped, with a part of you somewhere on the side of the road, stuck in a time.

Go forward, on the highway, with everything you have. Leave your work behind, but give permission to occasionally glance in the rear view mirror. Drive ahead, creation is in itself a forward motion.
