Last weekend I ventured out to watch Progressive House legends Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren play a 5 hour back to back set. Both talents have careers that respectively span over 30 years. What amazes me, to this day, is not only their endurance and consistency, but that their humility, humbleness, and integrity remain intact .
You can be immensely talented and have timeless work, but maintaining a high level of character that parallels and compliments your work for 30+ years is astounding.
Find a mentor, and or artist you look up to, and study their character. Observe what has allowed them to stay at the top of their game and also examine the relationship between themselves and the industry, at large. Internalize it while strengthening your own character. The character behind the art is just as important as the art itself.
